The longest descent from the Klein Matterhorn down to Zermatt is 18km long with a difference of altitude of 2279m.
Zermatt offers 250km of hiking paths in summer, a lot of them you will find right in front of our hotel, mountain bike trails are just steps away.The summer ski area of Zermatt is the biggest and highest in Europe. Only 15min away from the hotel you will find ski slopes even in summer. Depending on snow conditions there are 20km of ski slopes at your disposal. The longest descent is 7km.
Zermatt is also in summer a very attractive holiday resort: many hiking trails and mountain lakes are waiting to be discovered, a ride with the famous Gornergrat cog railway is a must. The 38 over 4000m-high peaks that surround Zermatt and the idyllic Alpine atmosphere attract thousands of tourists every year. For rainy days we propose a visit of the underground Alpine museum or the indoor climbing wall.
2015 Zermatt celebrated the 150-years-annivesary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn. The Alpine mountaineering tradition, which influenced the whole region, started also 150 years ago.

Since 1931 the village is car-free. Horse carriges or electric taxis are at the tourists’ diposal. The Hotel Silvana is situated above the village of Zermatt at the hamlet Furi, a refuge from the noises of the world, directly on the slopes and hiking trails, very close to the cable car stations. The hotel is reachable by foot in an hour from Zermatt, by cable car in 15 minutes or by electric taxi in 25 minutes.
